New folding Options have been added to our existing products. Here are all of them below:

Bifold
	Sizes Available: 8×9, 8.5×11, 11×17	The bi-fold divides into 2 vertical panels and is folded in half.
This is also known as a half fold or a two panel brochure. An 11″ x 8.5″ sheet is folded into a 5.5″ x 8.5″ brochure. This is used for menus or programs where wide panels are necessary.

Trifold
	Sizes Available: 8.5×11, 8.5×14, 11×17, 11×25.5	The tri-fold divides into 3 vertical panels. The right panel folds underneath the left.
This is also known as a letter fold. An 11″ x 8.5″ sheet is folded into a 3.67″ x 8.5″ brochure. This is the most popular of the folding options. The finished product will fit nicely into a standard #10 envelope or a display rack. The panel that will fold inside is slightly narrower than the front panel and the back panel of the finished brochure. Menus, programs, and promotional pieces are popular uses for the trifold.

Gate Fold
	Sizes Available: 8.5×11, 8.5×14, 11×17, 11×25.5	The gate fold is created by folding the two ends of a page inward so that the edges meet in the middle.
This is a three panel design with the widths of the two outside panels each one half the width of the middle panel. An 11″ x 8.5″ sheet is folded to a 5.5″ x 8.5″ brochure. The front of the brochure opens like a gate. Many times there is a graphic or text that crosses over the front two panels. This format is used often for promotional items and allows the designer to tease the customer into opening the brochure.

Z-Fold
	Sizes Available: 8.5×11, 8.5×14, 11×17, 11×25.5	The z-fold divides into 3 vertical panels. The panels fold on top of one another
This is Z Fold can also be called an accordion fold. This fold can be used with a three or four panel design. An 11″ x 8.5″ sheet with three panels is folded into a 3.67″ x 8.5″ brochure. A 14″ x 8.5″ sheet with four panels is folded into a 3.5″ x 8.5″ brochure. All of the panels are the same width with this fold. This is also known as a Right Angle Fold or 8 Page Fold. An 11″ x 8.5″ sheet is folded in half to form an 8.5″ x 5.5″ piece. This piece is then folded in half to the final size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. The two folds are at right angles to each other. This fold is popular for programs and promotional pieces especially when it is necessary to have a full size image on the inside of the brochure.

What should I check before I upload a file?

During the upload process, there are things that if not checked will cause problems with your files and with the upload process itself. These things could cause your file to not preview correctly so it looks distorted or could keep your file from being printed on time.

Images must be 300 dpi or greater or file will appear distorted.
Convert your files to CMYK to improve color accuracy.
Keep your file names below 20 characters with no spaces or special characters.

Also, double check the time that you are uploading files, especially if you’re getting the next day printing option. If you are uploading before 6 pm PST, then your files (if they are press ready) will print that night and will be ready to ship out the next business day.

Printers cannot print right to the edge of a sheet of paper. To create that effect, the printer must use a sheet which is larger than the document size. The printer prints beyond the edge of the document size (1/16 inch which is 0.0625 inch), then cuts the paper down to the document size. No text should go beyond the recommended safety, or it may be cut off while the printed piece is being cut to size.

Most jobs we print require a 1/16” bleed over each edge. If your job requires die-cutting or is a booklet, a 1/8” bleed is required.

How does size correlate to DPI?

If you enlarge an image or picture you will get fewer dots per inch – or lower DPI. Lower DPI means lower resolution, which means poor quality images. For best possible results, check your images to make sure they are at 300 DPI. To avoid poor quality images, use one of our templates, prepared for multiple design platforms. These template files are already at 300 DPI and supply you with design guidelines.

Getting started is easy!
1. If you have a press-ready digital file you can place your order and send your file by selecting a product and then hitting the upload a design button on that product page.

2. If you do not have a press-ready digital file you can customize any of our pre-designed templates. Simply, select a product. Click the Design Online button on the product page (loading time for Design Online may take a few minutes). Once in Design Online, click the Ready-made Designs option on the left hand navigation.

You will be able to upload your digital photos inside Design Online. Hit order when you are satisfied with your design.

Printers cannot print right to the edge of a sheet of paper. To create that effect, the printer must use a sheet which is larger than the document size. Then the printer prints beyond the edge of the document size (1/16 inch which is 0.0625 inch), then cuts the paper down to the document size. No text should go beyond the recommended bleed, or it may be cut off while the printed piece is being cut to size.
